Hi there! I’m AJ Callegan, born and raised on the bayou of Lafitte, Louisiana, where my love for building took root early on. I’ve been blessed with 20 wonderful years of marriage to my beautiful wife, Becky, and our greatest joy is our daughter, Maelee Jo. With over two decades in the construction industry, I’m passionate about HVAC systems and building science. My mission is to create homes that are not just efficient but truly healthy spaces where families can thrive. When I’m not working, I love enjoying music, good food, and adventures with my family. Let’s build something great together!"
In 2019, my health took a significant downturn, leading to the unfortunate necessity of selling our HVAC business. Following a diagnosis of epilepsy, I embarked on a challenging medical journey. Eventually, it was revealed that mold toxicity was the root cause of my uncontrollable seizures—a revelation that shed light on the hazards inherent in my career, exposing me to mycotoxins prevalent in HVAC systems and buildings.
Thanks to the intervention of functional medicine, I've been seizure-free for over three years now. Glory to God!! This health ordeal profoundly reshaped my focus and passions. In 2022, I launched a new business centered on building performance, building science, and the house as a system.
Leveraging over two decades of experience and ongoing education, my mission is clear: to address the construction deficiencies that not only led to my illness but contribute to various health issues of others. I aim to drive the necessary changes in building practices, advocating for homes and buildings that are not just safer and more durable but also promote better health and sustainability.

Our team performs detailed load calculations according to ACCA Manual J standards to
accurately determine the heating and cooling requirements for each space in your building.
By meticulously assessing factors such as climate, insulation, occupancy, and solar gain, we
ensure your HVAC system is appropriately sized to provide optimal comfort and efficiency.
Building upon the results of the load calculations, we select the right HVAC equipment and
components in accordance with ACCA Manual S guidelines.
Our expertise in equipment selection allows us to choose systems that are perfectly matched to
your building's requirements, maximizing performance and energy efficiency.
We design ductwork systems that are engineered to deliver conditioned air efficiently and
evenly throughout your building, minimizing energy waste and ensuring consistent comfort.
Our ductwork designs adhere to ACCA Manual D standards, guaranteeing that airflow is
optimized for each space and that pressure losses are minimized.

Energy Star is a program developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to identify and promote energy-efficient products and buildings. Buildings that meet Energy Star standards typically consume less energy than similar buildings, resulting in lower utility bills and reduced environmental impact. Energy Star ratings can apply to various types of buildings, including residential homes, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities. This rating system helps consumers make informed choices about energy-efficient products and encourages the adoption of sustainable building practices.
HERS (Home Energy Rating System) is a standardized evaluation method used to assess the energy efficiency of residential buildings in the United States. It involves a comprehensive analysis of various factors such as insulation, windows, heating and cooling systems, and overall building design. The results are expressed as a numerical score, with lower scores indicating higher energy efficiency. A HERS rating allows homeowners to understand how energy efficient their home is compared to a standard reference home.
